TapTale Terms of Service

Welcome to TapTale, a global digital platform dedicated to helping users discover, share, and savor stories,
novels, and various creative content.
These Terms of Service ("Terms"), together with our Privacy Policy and any other referenced documents, form
the legal agreement governing your access to and use of TapTale’s services.
By accessing or using any part of our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to
be bound by all provisions of these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms in full, you must cease
all use of TapTale’s services immediately.
- General Overview & Agreement Scope
- The services provided by TapTale ("Services") include, but are not limited to, our official website,
mobile applications ("App"), and all associated features, functions, and content.
- These Terms apply to all users who access or use the Services, including users who register an
account, browse content, post user-generated content, or subscribe to premium services. Your use
of the Services constitutes a legally binding contract between you and TapTale.
- Acceptance & Modification of Terms
- By using the Services, you explicitly agree to comply with these Terms and any updates or revisions
made to them from time to time.
- TapTale reserves the right to modify these Terms at its discretion. If the modifications are
material (i.e., significantly affect your rights or obligations), we will notify you through one
or more of the following channels:
- In-app notifications
- Email to the address associated with your account
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms
- All modified Terms shall take effect 14 days after the date of
notification; if required by applicable law, the modifications shall take effect immediately.
Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of the modified Terms shall be
deemed your acceptance of the revised Terms.
- Eligibility to Use the Services
- To access and use the Services, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- You must be at least 13 years of age, or the minimum age required by the
laws of your country/region (e.g., 16 years of age in the European Economic Area).
- If you are under the minimum age specified above, you may only use the
Services with the explicit consent and supervision of your parent or legal guardian, who shall
be responsible for your compliance with these Terms.
- You must not have been previously suspended or permanently banned from
using the Services by TapTale.
- You must comply with all applicable local, national, and international
laws, regulations, and rules when using the Services.
- If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, company, or other
entity, you represent and warrant that you have the legal authority to bind that entity to these
Terms, and that the entity agrees to comply with all provisions herein.
- Account Registration & Management
4.1 Account Creation
To access certain features of the Services (such as posting content, subscribing to premium plans, or saving
favorite stories), you must create a TapTale account using accurate, complete, and up-to-date
information. You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your account information and updating
it promptly if any changes occur.
4.2 Account Security
Your TapTale account is personal to you, and you are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality
of your login credentials (including your username, password, and any other authentication information).
You agree to take all necessary precautions to protect your account from unauthorized access, and you
shall be held liable for all activities conducted under your account, whether authorized by you or not.
If you suspect any unauthorized access to your account, you must notify TapTale immediately.
4.3 Account Deletion
You may delete your TapTale account at any time through the "Account Settings" section of the App or website.
Please note: account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Upon deletion, you will lose all access to
your account, user data, saved content, and any purchased premium services. TapTale is not responsible
for any data loss resulting from account deletion.
4.4 Third-Party Login
You may choose to register or log in to your TapTale account using third-party services (e.g., Google,
Apple). By using a third-party login, you authorize that third party to share certain personal
information (as specified by the third party) with TapTale, and you agree to comply with the terms of
service and privacy policy of that third party.
4.5 Account Suspension & Termination
TapTale reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account (temporarily or permanently) at any time,
without prior notice, if we determine that:
- You have violated these Terms
- We receive a legal request to do so
- Your account has been inactive for an extended period
- We suspect fraudulent, illegal, or harmful activity associated with your
account
- Access to & Use of the Services
5.1 Permitted Use
TapTale grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to access and use the
Services for personal, non-commercial purposes only. This license does not allow you to use the Services
for any commercial activities without the prior written consent of TapTale.
5.2 Prohibited Uses
You agree not to engage in any of the following activities when using the Services:
- Using the Services for unauthorized commercial purposes, including but not
limited to selling, renting, or licensing access to the Services or content on the platform.
- Modifying, reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, or attempting
to access the source code of the Services, or otherwise altering the Services in any way.
- Using automated tools (such as bots, crawlers, or scrapers) to access,
collect, or extract data from the Services without the prior written permission of TapTale.
- Bypassing any access controls, security measures, or restrictions
implemented by TapTale, or using the Services in any manner that is unlawful or violates these
Terms.
5.3 Device Requirements
You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have a compatible device, stable internet connection, and
any necessary software or updates to access and use the Services. TapTale is not liable for any issues
or damages arising from your failure to meet these requirements.
- Subscription Services
6.1 Free vs. Premium Services
TapTale offers both free and paid ("premium") versions of the Services. Free Services may include
advertisements, limited access to content, and restricted features. Premium Services provide additional
benefits (such as ad-free browsing, unlimited access to exclusive content, and priority support) for a
fee.
6.2 Subscription Plans & Billing
By subscribing to a TapTale premium plan, you agree to pay the applicable fees (including any taxes) for the
billing cycle you select (e.g., monthly, annual). Billing cycles are based on your initial purchase
date, and we will charge your selected payment method (e.g., credit card, App Store, Google Play) on a
recurring basis.
6.3 Auto-Renewal
All premium subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you disable
auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the current billing period expires. You can manage auto-renewal
settings through your TapTale account or the third-party platform used for your purchase (e.g., App
Store).
6.4 Cancellation & Refunds
You may cancel your premium subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you will continue to have access to
the Premium Services until the end of the current billing period. Subscription fees are generally
non-refundable; however, refunds may be provided if required by applicable law or TapTale’s refund
policy.
6.5 Price Changes
TapTale reserves the right to adjust the price of premium subscriptions at any time. We will provide you with
at least 30 days’ notice of any price changes. Your continued use of the Premium Services after the
price change takes effect shall be deemed your acceptance of the new price.
- Content Policies & Ownership
7.1 Content Ownership
- TapTale Content: All content provided by TapTale, including but not
limited to software, designs, trademarks, logos, text, images, and pre-uploaded stories, is
owned by TapTale or its licensors and is protected by international intellectual property laws.
You may not use, copy, reproduce, or distribute any TapTale Content without the prior written
consent of TapTale.
- User-Generated Content (UGC): You retain full ownership of all content you
post, upload, or share on the Services (including stories, comments, and reviews). By posting
UGC on TapTale, you grant TapTale a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use,
display, reproduce, distribute, and promote your UGC in connection with the operation and
marketing of the Services. This license continues even after you delete your account, unless you
request its termination in writing.
7.2 Content Availability
TapTale does not guarantee that any specific content (whether TapTale Content or UGC) will remain available
on the Services indefinitely. We reserve the right to remove or modify content at any time for legal,
licensing, operational, or other reasons, without prior notice.
7.3 Content Disclaimer
TapTale does not endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of any content
on the Services. You access and use all content at your own risk, and TapTale shall not be liable for
any damages or losses arising from your reliance on such content.
- Platform Interactions & Conduct
8.1 Interaction Guidelines
When using the Services, you agree to conduct yourself in a respectful and lawful manner. You may not post,
upload, or share any content that is:
- Illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar,
obscene, or discriminatory
- Infringing on the intellectual property rights (including copyrights,
trademarks, and patents) of others
- Spam, unsolicited advertising, or irrelevant content
- Violative of TapTale’s policies or these Terms
8.2 Content Moderation
TapTale reserves the right to review, edit, hide, or remove any content that violates these Terms or our
guidelines, without prior notice. We also reserve the right to restrict or suspend the accounts of users
who repeatedly violate these rules. TapTale provides reporting tools for users to flag inappropriate
content or conduct, and we will review all reports promptly.
8.3 Restricted Conduct
You agree not to engage in any of the following conduct when using the Services:
- Fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading activities
- Harassing, stalking, threatening, or intimidating other users or TapTale
staff
- Gaining unauthorized access to other users’ accounts, personal data, or
the Services’ systems
- Disrupting or interfering with the operation of the Services, including
but not limited to overloading servers or spreading malware
- Using the Services for any illegal activities, including but not limited
to copyright infringement, identity theft, or fraud
- Violation of these provisions may result in account termination, legal
action, or other consequences as deemed appropriate by TapTale.
- Third-Party Products & Services
- The Services may contain links to third-party websites, applications, or services, or integrate with
third-party tools (e.g., payment processors, social media platforms). TapTale does not control,
endorse, or assume any liability for these third-party services.
- Your use of third-party services is subject to the terms of service and privacy policies of those
third parties, and TapTale shall not be liable for any damages or losses arising from your
interactions with third-party services.
- Liability & Indemnification
10.1 Disclaimer of Liability
The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without any warranties of any kind, whether
express or implied. TapTale disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to warranties of
merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. TapTale does not guarantee that
the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
10.2 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TapTale and its affiliates, directors, employees, and
licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
(including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, data, or goodwill) arising from your use of
or inability to use the Services, even if TapTale has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
10.3 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TapTale and its affiliates, directors, employees, and
licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable
attorney’s fees) arising from:
- (a) your use of the Services
- (b) your violation of these Terms
- (c) your UGC
- (d) your violation of any applicable laws or the rights of third parties
- Intellectual Property Infringement
- TapTale respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same.
- If you believe that any content on the Services infringes your intellectual property rights, please
contact our designated agent (see Section 15.3) to submit a formal infringement claim. TapTale
will review all valid claims and take appropriate action in accordance with applicable law,
including removing or disabling access to the infringing content.
- Compliance with Laws
- You agree to use the Services in full compliance with all applicable local, national, and
international laws, regulations, and rules, including but not limited to laws governing
intellectual property, data protection, and online conduct.
- TapTale reserves the right to cooperate with law enforcement authorities and comply with legal
requests to disclose user information or remove content.
- Handling of Breaches
- If TapTale determines that you have violated these Terms, we may notify you of the breach and
request that you correct it within a reasonable period. For severe, repeated, or uncorrected
breaches, TapTale may take one or more of the following actions:
- Suspend or terminate your account
- Remove or disable access to your UGC
- Refuse to provide the Services to you
- Pursue legal action against you
- Report your conduct to relevant law enforcement authorities
- Agreement Validity & Modification
14.1 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent
jurisdiction, that provision shall be deemed severed from these Terms, and the remaining provisions
shall remain in full force and effect.
14.2 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with TapTale’s Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TapTale
regarding your access to and use of the Services, and supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements,
understandings, and representations (whether oral or written) between you and TapTale.
- Applicable Law & Dispute Resolution
15.1 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, USA,
excluding its conflict of laws principles.
15.2 Dispute Resolution
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Services
shall be resolved through binding, individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration
Association (AAA) in accordance with the AAA’s Commercial Arbitration Rules. Arbitration shall be
conducted in the State of Delaware, USA, and the parties shall waive their right to a jury trial and any
right to pursue class actions.

- Privacy Policy
- TapTale’s Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data. The
Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference, and you agree to comply with the
Privacy Policy when using the Services. Please review the Privacy Policy carefully to understand
our data practices.
- Termination of Services
- You may terminate your use of the Services at any time by deleting your account or ceasing all
access to the Services.
- TapTale reserves the right to terminate the Services (in whole or in part) or your access to the
Services at any time, for any reason, with or without prior notice. Upon termination, all
licenses granted to you under these Terms shall immediately terminate, and you shall cease all
use of the Services.
- General Provisions
18.1 Notices
TapTale may send you notices regarding these Terms, the Services, or other matters via email (to the address
associated with your account), in-app alerts, or postings on the TapTale website or App. Notices shall
be deemed received when sent (for email) or posted (for in-app or website notices).
18.2 Assignment
TapTale may assign these Terms to a third party in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or
other corporate transaction, without your prior consent. You may not assign these Terms or any of your
rights or obligations under these Terms without the prior written consent of TapTale.
